About Us !

Ohio Prairie Nursery has been delivering high quality native prairie and wetland seed to its customers since 1998. We now offer over thirty unique seed mixes / blends and over seventy individual species of seed. We have been providing native plant material for restoration and stormwater control projects since 2005. We continue to offer the popular "Let it Rain Garden" and the "Native Wildlife Habitat Garden" to our growing list of satisfied clients. In the fall of 2007 we began making larger material sizes available for landscape use and expanded our offering to include some native shrub, tree and vine species. 2008 will see the introduction of additional seed blends and products to increase and support our mission of land stewardship.

We will continue our strong focus on customer education and support in 2008 with the addition of three very skilled individuals.

Emliss Ricks - Land Manager

Emliss joined Ohio Prairie Nursery as land manager in early 2007. He brings 30 years of land management and educational program experience with the ODNR Natural Areas and Preserves Division to the organization.

Barb Holtz - Education / Sales

Barb joined Ohio Prairie Nursery in the Fall of 2007. She received a BA in biology and art from Wittenberg University and her master's degree in biology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She has worked in the field of nature & environmental education for over 22 years. Barb is the president of the north eastern Ohio chapter of Wild Ones, Natural Landscapers, Vice president of Friends of Euclid Creek and has recently started a citizens group in her community to encourage balanced development and to preserve green space.

Eric Faber - Land Steward

Eric joined Ohio Prairie Nursery in early 2007. Eric is a graduate of Hocking college in Ohio and has experience with the ONDR and the Nature Conservancy doing interpretive and survey work. His capabilities as a naturist and birder are well known in the northern Ohio area
