Native Plant Garden Information

Native Wildlife Habitat Gardens Our Native Wildlife Habitat Garden ™ uses plants to replicate an indigenous

plant community. It is comprised of shrub, grass and wildflower species that provide food and cover for wildlife. The garden has been designed for yards with normal soil and soil moisture and at least six hours of sun. The shrubs provide nectar sources and nest sites in the spring and summer, fruit and seed sources in the fall and winter. The grasses provide seed in the fall and structure throughout the fall and winter. All the wildflowers provide either larval food sources for butterflies, nectar sources for butterflies and hummingbirds or seed sources for songbirds and small mammals. A great way to add beauty to your yard and benefit local and migrating wildlife at the same time. Garden packages are available for pickup at the Middlefield nursery or are shipped on Mondays and Tuesdays to minimize the chance of them spending the weekend in a hot truck or warehouse. Gardens are shipped from April 16th through June 5th only.
