The somewhat fragrant yellow flowers open in the evening and close by noon.
The plant has a branching taproot and spreads most often by reseeding. It grows best in full sun and a medium to dry soil moisture.
Adaptable to many areas such as roadsides, banks, open fields and prairies. Found throughout the United States and Canada.
