Showy Goldenrod has small yellow flowers that bloom in a dense column. It is easily spotted in late season prairies and provides pollinators a place to land when other wildflowers are no longer in bloom.
Growing between 3 and 6 feet tall, this perennial does prefer some shade during the day. It does like moist soil, but be careful if using in traditional landscaping, it can become agressive.
