Silphium perfoliatum - Cup Plant

Cup Plant is tall erect perennial plant, growing 3 to 8 feet high, on stems that are stout, square in cross-section and smooth and unbranched below the flowers.

Flowers are bright yellow blooming in mid summer. It is adapted to moist soils and full sun situations.

Great plant for birds and pollinators.

Found east of the Rocky mountains to the east coast of the United States and in eastern Canada.
